Maurizio Forcella was born in Atri, a town in Abruzzo, on 24 May 1986. In 2006 he began studying at the Accademia dell'Immagine in Aquila. After three years of intense study he graduated as a "Specialist in Mass Media, Cinema and Communication". Following his graduation he began working on various film productions and has already gained substantial experience, especially in television. In 2010 he worked as the second assistant director on the television series Tutti pazzi per amore, directed by Ricardo Milani. Since 2012 he has worked a camera operator on the programme Miss Italia. In 2014 he directed his first work in film entitled "Come fosse per sempre", the latter aroused particular interest in the sector's festivals, winning important awards.In 2017 with the short film "TIMBALLO" he opened an important collaboration with actors such as Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Nunzia Schiano, Ivan Franek and Fabio Balsamo. Among the many awards, the work was chosen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as a vehicle of Italian culture in Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes all over the world and was also a finalist for the best Italian short film at the Nastri Silver Edition 2018.In 2019 he shot his third work "Quando la banda passò" as director, distributed by Premiere Film, this work also received worldwide recognition.In 2021 he made his fourth work entitled "Mariposa", it will be released in theaters in June 2022. His first feature film entitled "Antartide" produced by the production company Stazione Cinema and in production, will be shot in 2023.
